The collaborating efforts between Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio keep looking damn good as the two are ready to begin their next reunion with The Wolf on Wall Street. Already gaining an Oscar-nominated supporting actor, casting is already in a great motion. Now, it seems the adaptation of the real life stock story has just gained a new supporting actor alongside DiCaprio, and he’s not exactly playing a friend to the actor.
Deadline reports that Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler will be joining the feature as Agent Coleman, an FBI agent who builds the case against DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort to take the Wall Street hotshot down. Chandler joins recently casted Jonah Hill, who will be playing Belfort’s best friend and business partner after DiCaprio’s character convinces Hill’s to quit his job as a furniture salesman.
The story is adpated from Belfort’s own memoir, which detailed his manipulation of Wall Street stocks in order to gain him more money, and the partying ways that followed with the success. Belfort served 22 months in prison for his crimes, and he eventually straightened out his life following his stint. Scorsese will direct the script from Terence Winter, who is the creator of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.
Currently, The Wolf of Wall Street has no studio attached, with Red Granite financing and producing. Principal photography will begin in New York City this August.
