Being the #1 new show of the past year, ABC is going to keep the fairy tales rolling in a little over a month with the return ofOnce Upon a Time. Leaving off on a cliffhanger that certainly changed the status quo of the series thus far, the only thing that has fans more excited than the mystery of what’s to come has been the massive number of casting updates that have shown a slew of new characters will be popping up in Storybrooke. Now, ABC is ready to kick off promotion for their hit series as they have just unleashed a number of promotional posters for the upcoming season premiere that continues the last line uttered by Rumplestiltskin in the last season’s final moments.

Among the big changes in this off-season thus far, the second season will feature a number of new faces: Sarah Bolger as Princess Aurora, Jamie Chung as Mulan, Teen Wolf’s Sinqua Walls as Sir Lancelot, Julian Morris as Prince Phillip, Colin O’Donoghue as Captain Hook, and True Blood’s Michael Raymond-James in a currently undetermined role.

Meanwhile set reports have said that Barbara Hershey and Madison Bailey will be returning in their roles of Cora and Young Snow White, respectively, while Jessy Schram (Cinderella) and Sebastian Stan (Jefferson) have both revealed that they would love to return at a later date once their schedules clear up.

As for any story details, the plot for the second season is currently being kept under wraps for the time being while the new characters will likely point fans into plenty of flashback-filled tales to be told. With the overall curse no longer being an endgame for the series, it’ll be interesting to see just what will happen with the ongoing rivalry between Rumplestiltskin and Regina still very much in play. Will the chess match between the two only heat up as memories begin to unfold? We sure hope so.

Once Upon a Time returns on Sunday September 30th at 8PM on ABC.
