“You keep the station safe, you keep the code safe. Whatever it takes.” Well, here’s an nice generic thriller for the spring. In what looks like it could have been a role for Nicolas Cage, this time John Cusack steps back into contemporary thriller territory in this first trailer for The Numbers Station. Teaming up with Malin Akerman (who worked with Cage in Stolen), Cusack is a CIA black ops agent tasked with guarding a code operator, an integral part of how the CIA does business by way of encrypted messages at the titular locations. But of course, a team of bad guys complicates things and they must defend themselves. Watch?
Here’s the first trailer for Kasper Barfoed’s The Numbers Station originally from Yahoo:
After his latest mission goes wrong, veteran CIA black ops agent Emerson Kent (John Cusack) is given one last chance to prove he still has what it takes to do his job. His new assignment: guarding Katherine (Malin Akerman), a code operator at a top-secret remote CIA “Numbers Station” where encrypted messages are sent and received. When an elite team of heavily armed assailants lays siege to the station, Emerson and Katherine suddenly find themselves in a life-or-death struggle against an unknown enemy. Kasper Barfoed directs The Numbers Station from new writer F. Scott Frazier and it hits theaters on April 26th.
