Directed and produced by Ridley Scott, stars a bunch of hit kids such as Paul Mescal (all the *hit right now, such a gem), Pedro Pascal who really doesn’t need to be introduced anymore these days right? What’s more the epic Eddie Munson of Stranger Things, Joseph Quinn and, hopefully Oscar nominee this year, a brilliant Denzel Washington.
Now personally the line-up was enough to tune in, but the hype really got me severely curious.
Some people loved it, many hated it and its naked baboon fiercely.
See what we find on Rotten.
Scott is determined to deliver an epic of blood, violence and political conspiracy set in Ancient Rome, but the often rushed approach does not even possess a trace of its predecessor’s soul. (Yasser Medina, Cinefilia)
For all its faults, Gladiator II is an extraordinary film, the kind that demands to be seen in theaters. (Kristy Puchko, Mashable)
Fast, brutal and absorbing, the shocker opener sets the template for the rest of the movie, which plays — and often feels — like one long, inventively diverse, elaborately imaginative fight. (Manohla DargisNew York Times)
Paul Mescal just seems overwhelmed. At a lot of points, this film winds up feeling like an echo of the first film. (Amy NicholsonFilmWeek (KPCC – NPR Los Angeles)
Scott and his collaborators pander so unabashedly to our bloodlust that it rings all the more hollow when Gladiator II suddenly fancies itself a civics lesson. (Justin ChangThe New Yorker)

All these are right, all the comments I’ve read online are right, hate it or love it.
After years of wanting to find meaning in everything this film has finally taught me the greatest lesson: just enjoy it! They made it for us, they made it for fun, they made it to promote new talent and put some shine on cinema veterans.
Despite the many plot holes, historical improbabilities, outright laughable props and random character developments, Gladiator II is enjoyable, fun to watch and very colourful.
