Gosling’s a Miami gangster in Thailand who gets stuck into a grudge match with a former police lieutenant. According to Winding Refn, “the supernatural may figure, as might the existential”. Says the director, “It’s a stream of consciousness. It’s based on real emotions but set in a heightened reality. It’s a fairy tale.”
