The news is ALL over the place.
I could go on but if you landed on this page you sure have google at hand. Now the news and some drops of thoughts:
Rivers of blood cried or a just end for a long-running genre favorite? Trubies, the word has been spoken: “True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO,” said president of programming Michael Lombardo. “Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”
In a time when shows get the axe after 3, 2, 1 or even less seasons getting to a holy-sounding 7 is, indubitably, an achievement worth of notice but the end has been in the air and in the blood for some time now; what with rating lowering and storylines lagging, as a fan myself i have to admit that True Blood has lived so long most partially thanks to the good looks and bods of its protagonists. Shallow, it is, but i doubt the vampire telenovela that the Stackhouse Books inspired was ever meant to be something overly profound and complicated.
We love it anyhow, be sad to see it go, but a little glad it will and, hopefully, with dignity.
